Description
Brilliant opaque yellow non-lead glass; blown, relief-carved. Tall, ovoid bodies, with tall, cylindrical necks; cut, flared rims, with cut chamfers inside; the sides of the necks cut flat; the necks decorated with relief-carved formal overlapping foliage on the lower halves; cut "Greek-key" meander borders at the base of the necks; the ovoid sides with wide, continuous bands of relief-carved squirrels in branches, one jumping (the patterns the same on both vases, but one is the reverse of the other); chamfered bands at the bases; polished, flat base rims, with polished concave pontil marks.
