The thick uneven shallow bottom is executed in a very crude way and contains the sandwiched gilt and crackled "medal" of a male portrait looking to the left surrounded by an inscription; it is a copy of a medal of Niccolo Piccinino of Perugia (ca. 1380-1444) by Pisanelle; "NICOLAUS - PICININUS - VICECOMES - MARCHIO - CAPITANE - MAX(IMUS) - AGMIRS(?)"; the reverse side, the back of the relief, is purple; violet, amber and slightly white spiral millefiori canes are incorporated into the gently curved amber walls of the bowl, which has been applied to the base and has an uneven blue rim with a white spiral thread.
