Colorless glass; pressed. (a) Rectangular at edge, straight deep sides, rim fits inside rim of cover, trademark in relief on bottom: circle, inscribed SCHOTT & GEN/MAINZ; outside, arranged in square configuration around circle, four triangles; below this configuration, JENAERGLAS; marked in flange: 3123/52; (b) flat top, almost rectangular in plan but with slightly curved sides, rounded at edge; straight, splayed side; horizontal flange at bottom of side, almost oval in plan with narrow curved sides and broader straight ends; short vertical base rim with rounded lip; trademark in relief at center of top: circle, inscribed SCHOTT & GEN/ MAINZ; outside, arranged in square configuration around circle, four triangles; below this configuration, JENAER GLAS; additional marks on upper surface of flange: at left end, 3123; at right end, 52.
