Flattened, with shaped sides, consisting of a rounded top, above an "octagonal" base; the faces inscribed (molded) "BY THE/KINGS/ROYAL//PATENT GRANTED/TO" and on the other face "ROBT/TURLI/NGTON/FOR HIS/ INVENTED/BALSOM/LIFE", and on the sides "LONDON" and "IANY 26 1754"; short, cylindrical neck with flat, folded rim; flat, diagonally divided base with rough pontil mark.
