Description
Solid glass with a hollow center to hold the ink; rounded shoulders, flat base ground and polished; applied silver collar and hinged lid, marked "STERLING 2974" and a punch of a bell-like device. The back side of the glass is engraved with a view of the Corning Glass Works factory with 8 chimneys and "J. HOARE CO/GLASSWORKS" above the door and "Corning, N.Y. June 14th 1892" in script below; the opposite side, in front of the inkwell is engraved with the script initials "R.P.F.".
