Description
Colorless lead glass with polychrome enameling; blown blank, inscribed and engraved bowl and foot, sandblasted stem, overall enameled detail. Tall goblet with conical bowl, fire-polished rim; one side of bowl engraved with small rendering of a bird head, other side inscribed with linear stylization of feathered wing, concentrated near junction of bowl and stem are loosely enameled spots of blue, green, and amber; stem has been etched or sandblasted leaving a matte finish and overall patterning of parallel lines and dots in relief, raised design is polychrome enameled with black crosshatching; semi-solid stepped conical foot inscribed on top side with overall thin, broken parallel lines radiating from the stem; small rough pontil; inscribed near pontil: "FS.(monogram) 88"; undecipherable inscribed monogram on inside edge of foot (possibly Almeberg).
