Description
Sculpture, "Grey Rock, Sky Blue Vase, Blue Teapot". Gray, light blue, dark pink, and blue glass, found objects, paint; blown glass, murrine, painted, assembled. Sculpture with large gray base in the form of a rock upon which a blue and colorless teapot, a pink cone, and a tall light blue ovoid vase form are siliconed. Sculpture decorated with toy race cars, square checkerboard murrine, and swipes of paint.

In the early 1980s, Marquis began to make connections between his found and created objects, pairing items from his collections—such as the toy cars that you see here—with his blown glass forms.
