Colorless glass and metal. Blown, cut and engraved. a) Lantern with ovoid glass shade which is decorated with cut and engraved design of a fox attacking a buck. On the back engraved inscription that reads: “W. F. Brett & Bro.” Metal mounts at base and top with punched star and diamond design. b) circular handle that screws in to lantern, c) metal washer. Stamped on base of lantern “H & J SANGSTERS / PATENT / 1851”.
