Plaster painted black, wood is brownish hardwood, probably mahogany; lathe- and hand-carved. (a-c) Plaster mold in three interlocking parts with a hollow for a shallow bowl with stem and no foot (a compote top), pattern of beaded circles on sides; (d) wooden model of a bowl with design of beaded circles around sides and cross in base, straight stem, no foot.
