(a) Bronze; cast. Rectangular bronze medal showing a main in a raincoat swimming next to an overturned boat. Four fish flank outer edges of medal. Circular "gemstone" fixed to front near bottom edge. Top of medal inscribed, "PERLA DEL / MEDITTERRANEO". (b) Original reddish-brown case with hinged lid and metal mounts.
