Label Text
This complex drinking glass is composed of 14 pieces. A trick glass from the Museu de les Arts Decoratives de Barcelona has a very similar construction, but the drinking funnel has been lost and its applied canes are in greater relief. Another closely similar object was illustrated by Giovanni Maggi in 1604. Such vessels were intended to be an amusement for drinking games. As one drinks from this glass, the liquid in the tubes and bulbs suddenly rushes out, dousing the drinker.
