Description
Transparent red, and opaque white glass; cased, blown into wrought iron mount, gold-foil inclusion. Flaring cylindrical shape vase with wrought iron mount, the glass of the vase "bubbles" out between sections of the mount. Mount has hanging, flower shaped handles.

This vase was part of a collection of early modern glass assembled by Harvey Littleton, the “father” of American studio glass. He used the collection to teach his students about glassworking processes. The wrought-iron mount was made in Nancy by the French furniture designer Louis Majorelle (1859–1926).
