
Carlyn Ray received her BFA from The College of William and Mary. She took a semester abroad to New Zealand, where she began her glassblowing career. Upon graduation, she resided in Penland, North Carolina, where she studied and worked for a studio artist. Since, she has been an employee and teaching assistant at several schools including The Studio, Pilchuck, Haystack, and Penland. She has assisted several artists including William Morris and his team members, Lino Tagliapietra, and Petr Novotny. Carlyn was an employee of Dale Chihuly and worked with gaffer James Mongrain for more than a year before blowing glass for The Corning Museum of Glass.
