Biography: Gabriele Küstner
Gabriele Küstner is internationally renowned for her creative glass-fusing techniques. Much of her work involves the creation of intricate pieces of glass cane that are painted with China paint on the outside. She has studied and assisted at several renowned glass schools, including the Pilchuck Glass School. In 1998, she won the German State Prize in glass for the innovation and beauty of her work, which generally takes the form of shallow, broad-rimmed bowls.
