Biography: Karina Guévin
Karina Guévin’s playful jewelery has been recognized with a Francois-Houdé Award and grants from the Canadian and Québec Consul for the Arts, La SODEC, and a Gilles Verville grant in visual art. She studied at Québec University, where she fell in love with glass and started making mixed-media sculptures that included glass. She currently works as a flameworking teacher at Espace Verre and the Red Deer College in Alberta. She has taught at The Studio of the Corning Museum of Glass, Pilchuck Glass school, Nijiima (Japan) and the Pittsburgh Glass Center, and exhibits glass sculptures and jewelry in Canada, the United States, France, and the United Kingdom.
