Ki-Ra Kim was instrumental in introducing the Studio Glass movement to Korea. She holds B.F.A. and M.A.E degrees in glass from the Rhode Island School of Design, and is currently a professor in the glass art and design program at Kookmin University in Seoul. Kim distills her daily experiences in work that juxtaposes evident qualities in those experiences, such as two-dimensional elements and three-dimensional forms, transparent and opaque, and strong and frail. She has exhibited internationally and her work is in the collection of the Cheongiu National Museum in Korea.
