Corning Museum of Glass

This Illinois State University graduate and former Studio student looked at the Museum’s collection, Rakow Research Library source materials, and award-winning glass architecture as inspiration for his March Residency. Perez created a mural of glass that references the theme of connective bonds that he likes to use in his work. He would like to make a large “glass web structure of interlocking glass rings,” a “chain-mailed wall” that “holds and transmits light like a sheet of diamonds might.”  This Residency gave Perez needed access to glassmaking equipment that can be used to create large-scale work.
