Biography: Taryn Bertolino
Taryn Bertolino, a Boston native, first tried glassmaking at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Unlike other mediums, glass necessitates quick thinking and immediate action. She loves the challenge of coaxing this molten material into shapes using several types of tools.
In 2007, Bertolino ventured out to Seattle, Wash., where she spent several years immersing herself in the large glass community. She now resides in San Diego, Calif., where she is focusing on her own designs, both in functional glass and sculptural works.
