Season:
Summer
Technique:
Kiln Working
Level:
Advanced-Beginner
Duration:
One-Week Session

Have you acquired techniques yet are not sure of what the next step should be to create in glass the pictures in your mind?  Using strip and stack construction, trying tints, we’ll incorporate fiber paper to create recesses and voids in the thicker glass. But way beyond technique, we will look at a ‘way to work’. A trip to the Museum’s collection will help students to find inspiration and focus. Students are encouraged to bring images of their work and/or work they love, in any medium. Sketchbooks may be used as communication tools, to catalog and simplify ideas, and to note important ideas. This class will focus on making, critiquing, absorbing, moving on. Marty Kremer will be assisting Oxley in this innovative class. Basic fusing experience is required.
