Cold Working
All Levels
Two-Week Session

Using solid blocks of glass, students will experiment with aspects of advanced cold working: grinding, polishing, the use of horizontal mill wheels and vertical lathes, and cutting with stone and diamond to create constructions from glass as well as using the HXTAL gluing process to join glass elements. Please be aware that cold working is physically demanding and there are long days of standing involved in this course. Students will need to be able to lift, carry, and hold blocks of glass for long periods of time. No glassworking experience is required.
