July 31 - August 5, 2017
One-Week Session

A solid foundation is key to developing thoughtful pieces in the hot shop. This next steps class will emphasize the importance of building upon positive habits and solid hand skills. Students will discuss gathering, set-ups, proportions, and heat in order to create well designed and elegant vessels. Intended for fresh faces, this course will emphasize individual attention and instruction time will be divided between demonstrations and supervised work time. This class is ideal for people who have minimal glassblowing skills but who are not absolute beginners. Students should have taken at least one beginning glassblowing class prior to this class.

*Please be aware that this class occurs at the same time as a car race at Watkins Glen and local hotels book quickly. Room and board is available through The Studio, however, if you are getting your own housing, please book early.
