This course offers an opportunity to work deeply and intensively in learning the process of sandblasting glass in multiple stages. Using traditional hand-cut and photo stencils and working on thick glass, students will learn how to create chiaroscuro, or the development of light and dark values in imagery carved in glass. By modulating depth and opacity students will learn how to control value and develop a rich tonal palette. No experience is required, however, this course is also appropriate for those with prior experience.
