Students will learn to combine fused glass with flameworked pieces to make low-relief designs, creating depth in fused pieces and precise geometric lines in flameworking. Students will learn beginning off-mandrel flameworking techniques, as well as glass cutting and fusing basics that could apply to jewelry and tile making. Building on their flameworking skills, students will create a fused glass tile or panel with raised flameworked elements. Some flameworking experience is required; no kiln-working experience is required.
