Cloisonné is French for “cell.” In this workshop, students will learn the ancient technique of cloisonné enameling, in which vitreous enamel powders are fused to a metal base and fine silver wires are shaped and fused to form cells of color. The enamel grains are wet-inlaid into the wire cells and fired at 1,500 degrees to create colorful and durable glass pendants. No glassworking experience is required.
