This course will present a wide range of flameworking techniques using borosilicate glass. Students will embark on an evolution through glassmaking, beginning with marbles (single cell), through fungus, aquatics, and small land mammals, ending with the human form. Using glass tubing students will create small hollow vessels, beads, and goblets. Glass lathe instruction will be available if students are interested. Students will return home with enough small projects and ideas so that they may develop and sell their work.  There will also be discussion about studio design, equipment, and safety for the hobbyist, as well as for the intermediate flameworking artist. No glassworking experience is required; all levels of skill are welcome.
