Using the fusing and hot shops, students will learn to incorporate fused glass into blown and solid forms to make their work more interesting. Students will study fusing techniques, learn to “roll-up” the fused components into finished forms, pull cane and murrine from fused sheet glass, and make hot-worked elements for use in the fused work. Screen printing enamels, basic flameworking, firing schedules, and cold shop techniques also will be covered. One year of glassblowing experience is required. No kiln-forming experience is required.
