Kiln Working
All Levels
One-Week Session

Poured, plopped, splashed, and smeared! In this mold making and casting intensive, we will experience a barrage of techniques and tools to create molds for kiln casting.

Employing a variety of traditional and non-traditional processes, you will develop your understanding of the transformative potential of the kiln as a tool for shaping glass. Utilizing the lost wax casting process, in tandem with a series of exercises, we will develop our creative voice and a working methodology. You will create glass sculptures that consider the potential of the mold, as well as the possibilities of ‘mashing up’ contrasting techniques. No glassworking experience is required; advanced students are also welcomed.
