This workshop takes place Friday and Saturday during the Corning, NY GlassFest. Glassworkers understand the importance of presentation. They create beautiful and thought-provoking works of art, and their websites, marketing materials, and bios should reflect that. Join this unique workshop to develop engaging and situation-appropriate biographies, artist statements, email copy, and more. Through lecture, discussion and practice, artists from all backgrounds will have an opportunity to learn effective writing techniques and how to avoid common mistakes; explore their strengths and weaknesses in a safe environment; develop written pieces with a professional writer and editor; and understand how creative copy can help market their work. The workshop is appropriate for up-and-coming artists, as well as established professionals. While not required, students are encouraged to bring existing written materials and a laptop to the workshop. No writing or editing experience is required.
