Kick off the fourth annual Corning NY GlassFest with a party at the Museum. Free and open to the public.

Live Glassblowing Demonstrations
We don’t yet have our special guest (or guests) booked, but we can guarantee another evening of extraordinary glassmaking that you won’t want to miss—with a focus on beads to celebrate the opening of our major 2013 exhibition Life on a String!

Live Music by Fishtank Ensemble
Fishtank Ensemble is a leading world music band from California, bringing their unique high energy and virtuosic stage show that blends a wide range of styles, including Turkish, Romanian, Gypsy, French hot jazz, Balkan, Greek, and—believe it or not—even more. A perfect way to kick of GlassFest and the Memorial Day weekend!

Visit our New Exhibition
Found in archaeological sites and burial caches, and traded globally for centuries, glass beads have always been objects of value and power. This exhibition shows, for the first time, the large historical glass bead collection of The Corning Museum of Glass. It explores beadwork of various cultures, and shows the use of glass beads and bead-decorated objects—not only as ornament, but also as objects that hold power to the owner, to society, and to the world.

Hot Food and Cold Drinks Round Out the Night
Complimentary hors d’oeuvres and soft drinks are available. Heartier fare is also available for purchase.

Free shuttle bus service from the Museum’s I-86 parking lot is available.
