Art Museum Day
Celebrate International Museum Day and the Association of Art Museum Directors’ Art Museum Day at The Corning Museum of Glass. As always, admission to the Museum is free for kids 17 and under.
In addition to our usual schedule of glassmaking demonstrations throughout the day, the Museum will be offering special docent-led tours at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm that will include special content in celebration of Art Museum Day. Visitors can explore the history of glass artistry in the new major exhibition, Ennion and His Legacy: Mold-Blown Glass from Ancient Rome. From there, see how design and art in glass have changed over the centuries when you visit the new Contemporary Art + Design Wing, featuring almost 120 contemporary works in glass.
After learning all about glass artistry, take a trip over to The Studio and to Make Your Own Glass project. You can make everything from flowers, to suncatchers, to beads, and more. Additional fee applies and reservations are recommended.
