Brilliant Weekend Affair 2013
The Eastern Lakes and Mid-Atlantic chapters of the American Cut Glass Association (ACGA) are once again presenting the Brilliant Weekend Affair, a unique glass show and sale featuring cut and engraved glass.
This event is free with Museum admission or $5 at the Auditorium door.
American Brilliant Glass Show
Pre-eminent glass dealers from across the United States will be exhibiting. The presentation will emphasize American Brilliant Period cut and engraved glass, as well as specially selected examples of Steuben glass and European glass, and other special features.
At the Museum
Also included in Museum admission is the Masters of Studio Glass: Richard Marquis exhibition, on view in the Contemporary Glass Gallery, as well as the world’s largest collection of art and historical glass. Don't miss the live, narrated Hot Glass Shows, or the Flameworking, Glassbreaking and Optical Fiber Demos in the Innovation Center. The Museum is also home to a state-of-the-art glassmaking school, where visitors can enjoy Make Your Own Glass experiences for an additional fee.
Lecture by Stephen Koob
Enjoy dinner with a special lecture by Museum conservator Stephen Koob, at the Radisson Hotel on Saturday, May 4. Koob will provide information about the origin and composition of rainbow glass. Cost of the dinner is $36, and advance reservations are required.
