Conversations with Stephen Koob, Chief Conservator
For the Love of Glass: Conservation Projects at The Corning Museum of Glass.
Time and unintended abuse can be tough on historical objects, none more so than glass. The repair of glass objects, using state-of-the-art materials and procedures, is the specialty of Stephen Koob, the Museum’s chief conservator. Koob will share the stories and images of several projects: a Tiffany lamp reconstruction, repairs to a French 18th-century mechanical theater, and the reassembling of medieval blue beakers from the late 12th - early 13th centuries.
