Admission for kids and teens is always free, and local residents (living in ZIP codes beginning with 148, 149, or 169) can visit for just $9, making the full line-up of events and activities an affordable option for families of all sizes.
This spring break features exciting activities guaranteed to keep the boredom at bay, every day during spring break from 1–4 pm. Pick and choose from the schedule below, or make it easy and attend them all!
Egg Hunt March 28 - April 4
Be on the lookout! Each day our installations team will hide a glass egg amongst the objects in our cases. When you find it, take a picture or write down where you saw it and tell us at the table in the Admissions Lobby to receive a prize! Prizes available only between 1 and 4 pm.
March 28 – Marvelous Marbles
Learn to shoot marbles, to play marble games, and explore marble collections.
March 29 – Mirror Maze
Learn the secrets of reflection to steer the path of a laser light.
March 30 – What's the Use?
Play detective and uncover uses for all things glass.
March 31 – Match Game
Take a picture to make a match between objects at the Rakow Research Library and the Museum's glass collection.
April 1 – Clay Play
Explore special clay that allows you to create glass designs without burning your hands!
April 2 – Light Up the Museum
Who knew a Lite Brite and a stained glass window pattern could be so much fun?
April 3 – Light Mosiac
Learn the magic of polarized light to make a colorful mosiac.
April 4 – Sugar Show
Ever wonder what sugar and glass have in common? You'd be surprised!

You Design It; We Make It!
Submit a drawing of something you’d like to see come alive in glass! Your drawing could be picked by one of our glassmakers to be made, in front of a live audience, during a Wednesday Hot Glass Demo in the new Amphitheater Hot Shop. Drawings will be collected throughout the week for creation during the Hot Glass Demos on April 1, 8, and 15. Want even more You Design It; We Make It!? Flameworkers will choose one drawing every day which they will create during the Flameworking Demo in the Innovation Center.
Make Your Own Glass
Make a spring egg, an egg pendant, or even a cute duck bead! Plus, try suncatchers and windchimes that catch sunny rays every day. Additional fee. Projects exist for all ages. We recommend booking ahead of time.
Watch as expert glassmakers transform molten glass into beautiful objects at the live, narrated Hot Glass Shows. Don’t miss the Flameworking, Glassbreaking, and Optical Fiber Demos. All demonstrations take place in the Innovation Center area and are included in the cost of admission.
Garden Gallery Hunt
Kids can explore the galleries and find glass objects inspired by spring to create their own glass bouquets.
