Marc Thorpe
, Marc Thorpe DesignMark Thorpe was born in 1978. In 2000, he earned a B.A. in industrial design from the University of Maryland, followed in 2004 by a master’s degree in architecture (M.Arch) from the Parsons School of Design in New York.
In 2005, Thorpe established his New York-based firm, Marc Thorpe Design, which is a multi-disciplinary design practice specializing in the fields of architecture and industrial design. He has designed for commercial, residential, and leisure sectors. Clients include Moroso, Infiniti, Hearst, Target, Showtime, David Yurman, Bernhardt Design, Esquire, Classic Car Club, Parsons, Qunize & Milan, L’Oreal, Yahoo, Fasem, Patron, Saporiti Italia, and Davidoff.
Thorpe has taught in the architecture department at Parsons School of Design, and in the industrial design department at Pratt Institute in New York City. He currently teaches in the department of design, digital art, and film at New York University in New York City.
Thorpe’s awards include a 2003 Scholastic Award by the American Institute of Architects and the American Architectural Foundation, and a 2004 Alpha Rho Chi Medal for architectural leadership by the Parsons School of Design.
