Late Show

Late Show

Taking advantage of the Museum’s extended evening summer hours, the Late Show takes the Hot Glass Show and heats it up even further! With a full 45 minutes for this extended show, the Museum's gaffers (another term for master glassmakers) take the opportunity to show off their creativity as artists, making larger and more ornate vases, bowls, or sculptures at the furnace. The Courtyard Stage lends a unique atmostphere to the making of these colorful and lively pieces.

Like the traditional Hot Glass Show, a narrator talks you though every step of the glassmaking process, answering your questions and explaining the history and science behind glassmaking techniques.

The Late Show ends with a raffle, allowing one lucky viewer in the audience to take home a piece of glass made during a previous Hot Glass Show.
