Photographs made from slides owned by Robert Liu, Ornament Magazine.
The sample books have been dated between 1852-1868 based on the latest date on the label (1852) and the next known medal awarded (1868).
Fratelli Giacomuzzi fu Angelo made and sold small glass beads, necklaces, lampworked beads, smalti, etc., as well as produced mosaics.
One book bears the Fratelli Giacomuzzi fu Angelo label and contains beads 1-478. The second book contains beads 1-108 and is similar to the first, while the third book contains beads 181-360 and is in a slightly different format. The numbers that are duplicated within the volumes do not correspond to the same beads.
The original books are described in Bead Society Newsletter (Los Angeles) v. 10, no. 1, August/September 1984 (p. 6); Bead Forum no. 5, October 1984 (p. 6-7); and Beads (Journal of the Society of Bead Researchers) v. 14, 2002.
