Drawing is for two decanters, each with three wine glasses placed in front. Decanter on left is wide towards base and narrows towards neck; stopper is diamond in shape; wine glasses in front of this decanter are similar in shape. Decanter on right has round body and triangular stopper atop swirling embellishment; wine glasses in front of this decanter are similar in shape.
Drawing is on light brown construction paper.

Herbst was one of Émile Gallé's collaborators, being principally employed in the furniture workshops in Nancy. He won a prize for his outstanding designs at the Exposition Universelle in Paris in 1900.
