Vase on upper left is drawn on gray paper and is 15 x 9 cm. Vase has two elaborate handles with shield on center of body; foot resembles a pedestal and ornament is on top of cover. Vase on lower left is on gray paper and is 27 x 12 cm. It is similar in shape as vase on upper left but with taller pedestal-like foot and handles that do not extend away from vase. Vase is mostly clear with yellow and pink decoration. Vase on upper right is in black ink on brown paper and is the same design as drawing on lower left; some notations penciled in. Its dimensions are 19 x 10 cm. Drawing on lower right is for the Val Centenary vase with bamboo cutting and bronze ornaments; it is on gray paper and is 16 x 10 cm. The drawing is mounted on green paper that is 18 x 12 cm. and affixed to gray paper; a strip of paper 6 x 10 cm. over the lower portion of the drawing allows views of two different design options for the foot. A green band with pink decoration surrounds upper portion of body.
Two white, square labels are affixed side by side to lower right corner of verso. "Fonds Chambon" stamped lightly in black ink on label on right and "7" written in black ink also on label. "Dessins de Léon Ledru" written in black ink on label on left.
This design was formerly cataloged as part of a trade catalog, BIB 55482, made up of 79 original drawings for vases, lighting fixtures, lampshades, and candlesticks; these designs, most of which are anonymous, had been assembled and mounted by R. Chambon. The named artists include Leon Ledru, Lucien Jacquemotte, Rene Delvenne, Joseph Simon, Henry van de Velde, Muller Frères, and Renard.
