Drawing is for two bowls, one atop the other, with wide, plate-like rims. Upper bowl is pink, yellow, and orange with grid-like pattern; lower bowl is decorated with circled pattern in brown and yellow.
Drawing is on dark brown construction paper.
"Aug. Herbst" -- signed in watercolor on lower right corner.
Herbst was one of Émile Gallé's collaborators, being principally employed in the furniture workshops in Nancy. He won a prize for his outstanding designs at the Exposition Universelle in Paris in 1900.
