Title from handwritten label.
Dominick Labino, glass artist.
Probably recorded in 1972 at a celebration/tribute for Dominick Labino, recipient of the Toledo Glass and Ceramic award.
Trained as an engineer at the Carnegie Institute of Technology, Dominick Labino began his professional career at Owens-Illinois, a glass manufacturing plant in Clarion, Pennsylvania. In this recording, four individuals (representing Owens-Illinois) discuss the contributions in glass made by Labino, both in industry and in art. An award created by Libbey, presumably the Toledo Glass and Ceramic Award, is presented to Labino. Labino's talk is incomplete. He refers to some of the things he is currently working on: glass compositions, small furnaces, glass colors and large casting panels; but the film does not include his talk.
