David Whitehouse reviews the early history of glassmaking, covering the period 1500 BC-1500 AD. His lecture begins with glassmaking in Egypt, Mesopotamia, Syria, Iraq, and the Holy Land. He continues through the ages and covers Roman and Islamic glassmaking explaining many of the techniques used. Objects from the museum's collection are shown throughout his lecture.
