Notes
Five design drawings for ten pieces of glassware in differing colors and designs. Allen and Hacker used these drawings to form basis for design plan at GlassLab. They layered bands of glass to form cylinders, or cups; these cups could then be applied to one another in a stack and fused together to form a single vase.
Allen and Hacker collaborated with gaffers George Kennard, Eric Meek, and Chris Rochelle August 21-22, 2012 during their time at GlassLab at The Corning Museum of Glass; these design drawings were not turned into glass or the glass was not kept.
Allen has participated in GlassLab in the past.
Allen is an industrial designer and is the founder and president of Harry Allen Design. Chris Hacker is the chief design officer for Johnson & Johnson.
GlassLab provides an opportunity for designers and glassmakers to collaborate by using hot glass as a catalyst for innovation.
