After an introduction by Dwight Lanmon and David Whitehouse, Kenneth Painter discusses figural glass and non-glass statues, as well as glass used during the Roman Empire and symbols of the Roman Empire. Some of his examples are objects included in the exhibition Glass of the Caesars. He also mentions the mosaics of Ravenna.
