A subtle promotional film giving Britain credit for the important part they have played in the production of glass. This film shows the making of a goblet, thermometer tubing, clay pots for furnaces, plate glass, glass bricks, bulbs, and bottles. This information is dated, but interesting from a historical viewpoint. Also included is brief footage of Professor Turner (William Ernest Stephen Turner) at the University of Sheffield, lecturing to a group of students from all over the world. The Dept. of Glass Technology at Sheffield researches and experiments with problems of glass, then present their findings to the Society of Glass Technology who disseminates the information.
