One of the Notebooks of Frederick Carder.
Notebook with black cover. The front and back covers were originally stuck to other notebooks and shows damage due to the separation of the covers. Most pages are blank.
First page is headed Miss Bate, but the entries have been scribbled out. Entry dated 1895 mentions the names Meanley, Miss Bate, Fred Bate, Miss Davis, Mr. Davis, and Miss Moberley, followed by an entry dated 1895 & 6 with a list "Paid to" which includes Compson for cleaning, tarnish, turpentine, clay, paper & mounts, and stamps. There are 4 leaves of entries dated from 1895-1897 "Paid to models". Models listed are Esther Compson and Edith Bate. The remaining pages are blank.
