Probably the original drawing for the Lalique pendant owned by CMG.
Notable Acquisition.
Displayed with CMG's pendant in the traveling exhibition "The Jewels of Lalique", held Feb. 3-Apr. 12, 1998 at the Cooper Hewitt, National Design Museum, New York; May 15-Aug. 16, 1998 at the International Gallery, Smithsonian Institution, Washington, DC; and Sept. 13, 1998-Jan. 10, 1999 at the Dallas Museum of Art, Dallas, Texas.
Title from p. 7 of the catalog for the October 20, 1994 auction held by Olivier Coutau-Bégarie.
Previously under glass, matted in a dark-stained wood frame measuring 48 x 39 cm. Drawing was unframed June 2012.
China ink, gouache, and watercolor on transparent vegetable paper made by the Société frères Kléber, showing the monogram "BFK".
Sticky residue at side of paper, from dealer's matting; tear beginning at bottom center of sheet; fragile.
Numbers in the margin include: in ink, "678"; in pencil: "333" and "31" (the latter prob. from auction house).
