Design drawing features two platters, one drawn above other. Platter on upper portion of drawing is view from side angle; the platter is in green with yellow and red depicting fire. Platter on lower portion of drawing is view from above and is in black and white; notations detail instructions.
Title written in lower right corner of drawing.
"Opaque green glass" and "orange/red transp. glass with hot sculpting" --
written with lines pointing to specific areas on platter on lower portion of drawing.
The Boyms collaborated with gaffers Chris Rochelle and Aaron Jack August 7-8, 2012 during their time at GlassLab at The Corning Museum of Glass; the resulting piece of glass for this prototype was not kept.
The Boyms run Boym Partners, Inc., a design studio in New York.
GlassLab provides an opportunity for designers and glassmakers to collaborate by using hot glass as a catalyst for innovation.
