Mr. Dimitroff is the author of a book on Carder Steuben glass. His lecture begins with a brief history of Murano glass, and then he demonstrates the influence of 15th-19th century Venetian glass on the glass designed by Carder for both Stevens & Williams, and Steuben. Carder's choice of color, shape, technique and decoration reflect the Venetian styles, and not the art nouveau era.
Recorded on October 9, 2004.
The topic of the seminar paralleled the museum's 2004 special exhibition: Beyond Venice.
