New Glass Review Call for Entries

Published by The Corning Museum of Glass, New Glass Review is an annual survey of glass in contemporary art, architecture, craft, and design created in the previous year by emerging and established artists, as well as students. The works are chosen by a changing jury of curators, artists, designers, art dealers, and critics, headed by Corning Museum of Glass Curator of Modern and Contemporary Glass, Susie J. Silbert.

A message from the Curator

More than just a publication, New Glass Review is a time capsule and ever-growing archive of the innovation, creativity, dexterity, and thoughtfulness of artists, designers, architects, and students in glass.

Each year’s issue is an exhibition-in-print that demonstrates the shifting concerns of contemporary glass makers and users from around the world. Collectively, the journal—and the archive of published and unpublished submissions it generates—forms the world’s most comprehensive documentation of human achievement in glass from 1979 through the present day.

We invite you to become a part of it.

Call for Entries

The Corning Museum of Glass invites artists, craftspeople, designers, and architects worldwide to submit images of new works using glass, including video works in which glass plays a fundamental role, and video documentation of performances using glass.

Submissions may be entered beginning July 5, 2017. Sign up for the New Glass Review email list to be notified when the submission form is open.

In late November or early December, a jury selects 100 images from the submissions. New Glass Review is published every spring by The Corning Museum of Glass and distributed with GLASS: The UrbanGlass Art Quarterly, published by UrbanGlass, Brooklyn, New York, in late May.

Participants are requested to complete the entry form, submitting a total of one to three digital images illustrating one work per file. Three images of different pieces are preferred, although participants may send up to three images of multiple views of one or two pieces. Digital photographs and video must be of actual objects and performances designed and made between October 1, 2016, and October 1, 2017.

Please apply only once to New Glass Review.
