Primary Description:
Clear glass; free-blown and mold-blown, gilded and enameled. Conical body with flat base; each tumbler is decorated with a multicolored panel showing nudes and framed by a golden rim and two volutes on top, the rims are gilded, two golden lines at top and bottom; subjects: (A) "Maedchen mit Taube" (girl with dove); (B) "Ueberraschung" (surprise): a nymph with an approaching cupid; (C) "Nymphe mit Liebesgott" (nymphe with Amor); (D) "Alpenmaerchen" (fairy-tale of the Alps): a winged young lady with a young man sleeping on a rock; (E) "Tannhaeuser und Venus" (Tannhaeuser and Venus): Venus grabbing at Tannhaeuser; (F) "Der Winter" (winter): three sleeping young ladies; (G) original wooden case for the set with: "Eduard Rau - Kgl.
